2023-2024 Awards and Honors

• Finalists in the Virtual Choir Contest through Perform America.  10 choirs picked in the Varsity and Non-Varsity categories throughout the state through the submission of 1 song.
• Non-Varsity Tenor Bass Choir performed at the Texas Music Educator's Association  Convention in San Antonio.  12 choirs were chosen across the state out of 120 submissions.

• The Beckendorff Honor Orchestra won First Place in the 2019 Houston Cup!

2018-2019 Awards and Honors

​2017-2018 Awards and Honors

• BDJH was named a Texas Honor Roll School by the Educational Results Partnership (ERP) and the Institute for Productivity in Education (IPE). The 2017-18 Texas Honor Roll recognizes public elementary, middle and high schools that consistently demonstrate high levels of student academic achievement, improvement in student outcomes over time and a closing of the achievement gaps.
   
• Recently, the BDJH Band participated in Region 23 , All Region Band Contest. Students competed with band students from Katy ISD, Houston ISD and Alief ISD for positions in the Region 23 All Region Band. Thirty four Beckendorff Junior High students were awarded positions in this elite group. In addition 6 students placed in the top of their sections and were also chosen to perform in the Region 23 All Region Symphony Orchestra. Please congratulate these students for this outstanding accomplishment.​
   
• Congratulations to the Quiz Bowl team for their great work at Nationals in Chicago. They came in 13th out of  191 teams.​
   
• All choirs received sweepstakes at UIL competitions!​
   
• The Beckendorff Honor Orchestra was recently named a National Honor Orchestra Winner in the 2017 Foundation for Music Education Mark of Excellence Competition.   This is the fourth year in a row that BDJH has been named a National Winner.  In addition, the Honor Orchestra received 5th Place in the TMEA State Honor Orchestra. You can access the Honor Orchestra's YouTube recordings of their performance here: https://beckendorfforchestras.org/recordings/​​
