About Us
About Us
In August 2004, the Katy community opened the doors of Katy ISD’s tenth junior high school, Beckendorff Junior High. What was once a rice field has grown into a thriving campus grounded in strong relationships, high expectations, and a commitment to ensuring every student reaches their unique potential.
From its earliest days, Beckendorff has been built on the belief that success is a journey, not a destination. Our teachers, staff, and families work together to create a learning environment where students feel supported and challenged to grow academically. Each day, Beckendorff Bears are encouraged to learn, lead, and uplift others. Beckendorff Bears embrace the mindset that excellence is not just a goal, but our standard.
At Beckendorff Junior High, our mission is to create a safe, supportive, and challenging learning environment where each student is empowered to achieve academic growth and discover their unique talents. Our vision is to be a school community that confidently embraces challenges, demonstrates leadership, and contributes positively to the world around us.
This commitment to excellence is reflected in both the classroom and beyond. Beckendorff students consistently achieve high levels across academics, fine arts, and athletics. Recent accomplishments include strong state-level performances in academic competitions such as TMSCA and Science Olympiad, recognition in prestigious fine arts programs including TMEA Honor Orchestra and performances with the Houston Chamber Choir, and continued success in district athletics across multiple sports.
What makes Beckendorff exceptional is our people. Our community values passionate leadership, dedicated teachers, engaged families, and students who are encouraged to pursue a wide range of interests. At Beckendorff Junior High, we believe excellence means learning, leading, and uplifting others. Together, we continue to build a legacy where every Bear is prepared for the future and empowered to make a positive impact.
