Science Olympiad

A competitive team, for grades 7 and 8, which competes against schools from around the state and nation in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics events. Nearly 8,000 teams from all 50 U.S. states compete each year. There are multiple levels of competition: invitational, regional, state, and national.

Students interested in trying out for the 2026-2027 school year can access the sign-up form on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, through a Canvas announcement and their science class. Students should complete the application prior to tryouts, which will be held on Thursday, August 27^th in the cafeteria. During the tryout, students will have approximately 2 ½ hours to complete a science-based test. Once the tests are scored, the top 55-70 scorers will be invited to interview with the captains and coaches. Students can find information about Science Olympiad events by visiting www.soinc.org.
